Pottery 2 Days/ 4 Potters: A Shared Experience
Molly Cantor
Demonstrating techniques for creating pattern and illustration on unfired clay surfaces including sgraffito, slip inlay (mishima) and use of underglaze in combination with these techniques.
Robbie Heidinger
From Drawing to Form: Watch as a two-dimensional line takes on three-dimensional form in handbuilding workshop. Learn simple tricks to making dynamic handbuilt vessels. Connect your visions to form while sharing in a discussion of aesthetics and personal history.
Alex Psillos
Demonstrating techniques for altering wheel thrown forms using various tools, hands, and blow torch.. Learn how to enhance your wheel thrown forms will consist of bowls, cups, mugs, teapots and vases.
Michael Weiner
Several methods for the transfer of images onto clay will be taught and demonstrated, including lithographic, stencil, silk-screen, wet-ink and halftone transferring. Students will have a hands-on opportunity to transfer a student-supplied high-contrast photographic image or line drawing to a clay tile.

Jewelry Workshops
“Forging” Workshop
with Raychel Wengenroth
Forging is the ancient art of moving metal wire in different directions using the technique of controlled hammer blows with specifically shaped hammer heads. This skill is ideal for components of jewelry, plain cuff bracelets and larger utilitarian objects. A variety of techniques will be explored, proper care and use of tools, annealing to keep metal malleable and project planning will be discussed. During this
one day workshop, students will make smaller items out of copper wire.

Jewelry
“Clasps” Workshop
with Raychel Wengenroth
This intensive one day workshop will introduce students to a variety of simple clasps and other assorted findings. “S” hooks, toggles and wire wrapping are surprisingly vast in style and scope of skill levels necessary. Depending on time and expertise, students can learn the basics of barrel clasps, figure 8 safety clasps and hinge-pin mechanisms. Basic skills including sawing and soldering are very helpful for maximizing this “hands on” experience.
